The Ridge Youth

“Let no one despise you for your youth,
but set the believers an example in speech,
in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12, (ESV)

Led by Pastor Keith Burkhart, students are taught biblical truths to strengthen their faith and discuss topics in apologetics to equip them for defending and living out their faith in their schools and places of work. During the school year, holidays and summer breaks, students are encouraged to give back to their community, and world, through livelihoods of service. Seen below are students wrapping and preparing Christmas shoeboxes at the Operation Christmas Child processing center in Charlotte, NC during the 2018 holiday season.

During the summers, Pastor Keith leads teams of high school and college students on international mission trips around the globe. Students gain experience in intercultural gospel communication and presentation through acts of service, sports camps, street evangelism, Vacation Bible Schools, and other activities. Since he joined the team at PRBC, Pastor Keith has taken groups of students to Wales (2014), the Dominican Republic (2016), and German (2018). Pictured below is the 2018 Hamburg, Germany Mission team. While there, these students and adults partnered and collaborated with other churches from the United States to run a baseball camp in the city of Hamburg, all while presenting the gospel to the locals.

This year, Pastor Keith will be working with the International Mission Board and leading a team of students and adults from Pleasant Ridge, and other churches, back to Hamburg, Germany. They will be on the mission field mid-summer. We ask that you would keep Pastor Keith and his team in your prayers as they serve and evangelize to the people of that area. If you would like to know more about the trip, please see Pastor Keith Burkhart.
